Newborn Top Ten Essentials

Welcome back for another blog post. Today I will be talking about Newborn top ten essentials. Its very helpful too see what other moms use for their newborn. Every baby is different and what works for that baby may not work for your baby. I will be sharing my essentials and recommendations. My second baby liked different things then my first and it was sure different as well because my baby was a preemie.

My first essentials are diapers, diaper rash cream, baby wipes and diaper bag. Their are disposable diapers which is my preference because its easier and their are always coupons out their to save you money or their are cloth diapers. The diaper rash cream that I love and works really well is the Original Boudreaux's Butt Paste. When it comes to wipes I really don't mind using any brand I know moms like using the water wipes, but its all about preference. I know new moms can go a little overboard with diaper bags and buy too many or just not the right one, make a list of what your baby really needs and from their decide what kind and size of diaper bag would work for you.

My second essential is baby clothes and blankets, now I wouldn't recommend buying too much newborn items they grow out of that size super quick the size 0-3 months and 3 months are a great size to have more of variety. If you plan too have a baby shower usually guest give out more bigger size's then smaller size's, I experienced that on both of my baby showers. I bought basic pieces like onsies, swaddle blankets, one piece outfits and of course a few cute outfits, some socks, burp cloths, bibs and baby towels.

My third essential is a type of bed, their are many ways where a baby can sleep. Some moms use bassinets for the first few months and then transferred to their cribs. I wouldn't recommend putting your baby to sleep in the same bed with you nor laying the baby on its belly do to "SIDS"

My fourth essential are pacifiers, bottles, bottle sterilizer and Formula. Some mothers are able to breastfeed their babies with no difficulties, but their are mothers who don't produce enough or no milk. I wasn't able to produce milk even though I tried many strategies. So for me I had no choice to use bottles for my baby. I used two different kid of bottles, I used the Dr. Browns bottles and the Playtex vent aire bottles; This types of bottles helped my baby for his colic's. When it comes too pacifiers it can be tricky, their are so many on the market you just need to find one that your baby enjoys and stick with it. Formula again can me an item that could be a challenge a lot of babies have digestive problems and cant handle a certain type of milk.

My fifth essential are colic drops. Both of my babies had bad colic's, but again it all depends on your baby and if their being breastfeed or not.

My sixth essential is a car seat and stroller. I have such a hard time finding the right stroller I tend to be picky. I like a light weight stroller, compact, cute and in the affordable side. I have looked high and low and I am really happy with the one I bought [check my baby haul post].

My seventh essential is a first aid kit . My baby first aid kit includes baby medicine, a aspirator, thermometer, nail clipper, hair comb, baby shampoo and lotion. Its important to be careful because some babies have really sensitive skin. I use the SheaMoisture brand, because my baby was having an allergic reaction to other shampoos.

My eighth essential is a bouncer, a swing and a gym mat, I wouldn't know what to do if I didn't have this two items in my life. I am happy my baby enjoys this items.

My ninth essential is a baby carrier, bath tub and detergent. A baby carrier is great for quick runs to the store or even if your just walking around your neighborhood. Their are so many bath tubs to choose from, but honestly their is no need to pay so much money for one.

My tenth essential is a baby monitor. Their are so many too chose from. I would recommend the owlet or if you are looking for a more affordable item the Snuza Hero, it helps us moms to rest more at night.

Dockatot Review

The Dockatot is an amazing product and how I wish it existed when I had my first baby.
When your a mother it is very useful to find items that help your baby and yourself either to get things done or even get some rest. When I received the Dockatot Deluxe I was so anxious to try it out. The Dockatot helps your baby feel more comfortable and its design to feel like if they are still in the mothers womb. It was very essential for me because you can put the Dockatot pretty much anywhere. I would place it next too me in bed, on the carpet, on the sofa and even on the kitchen table. The Dockatot is convenient for traveling, it has a separate plastic cover so you can take it anywhere.

The Dockatot comes in two different sizes. The Deluxe and the Grand; for the deluxe its for newborns up to nine months and as for the grand its for nine months up too thirty six months. The Dockatot has an adjustable opening on the bottom so when the baby grows is has space for their growing little legs.
The Dockatot is also great for tummy time. Their are separate covers for the Dockatot with different cute designs to choose from and of course they are washable. All mother are concerned of our baby's safety and the Dockatot is 100% breathable. I love the Dockatot and highly recommend it.

I had the pleasure to work with Dockatot and Finn and Emma. I will be having a review on Finn and Emma soon. Thank you for reading be free to leave a comment or if you have any question.

Winter Night Time Skin Care Routine

To start of I have extreme dry skin during winter to the point where my skin starts peeling, I am also acne prone. For years I have struggled in finding the right products for my skin. I finally found items that definitely work for me. I need products that prevents my skin from getting acne, help my dry skin and prevent wrinkles. To remove my face and eye makeup I use the Neutrogena oil free eye makeup remover and towelettes their the best for removing my makeup I have tried other products, but this are my too go products .For my cleanser I have used the Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Cleanser/ Mask for years and it has never disappointed me. Once in a while I would use the Clear Pore oil-eliminating astringent only when I have a stubborn pimple. Another acne treatment that is my holly grail is the clean and clear advantage acne spot treatment I have been using this product since high school, highly recommend it. once I am done with my acne treatments I would apply my Lancome visionnaire Serum, this product is amazing! it helps the texture on my skin. For moisturizers I alternate with two, every other day I would use the Lancome Visionnaire Multi Correcting Cream and the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. For the days that my skin needs extra care with moisture I would use the Tatcha Pure cleansing oil. I do love using masks, but for me I need to be very careful do to some mask brake me out, but I love using Asian name brand sheet masks, they don't brake me out and actually work. For my eye cream I have been enjoying the Aphrodite olive oil eye cream. Thats sums up my winter skin care routine.I really hope you lovelies enjoyed today's post.

My Labor and Delivery Story

I feel completely blessed to be able to experience motherhood again. This is my second pregnancy and it was completely different then my first one. To start off I found out I was expecting with my second child on February of 2016 around 4 p.m after work. I was noticing weird food diversion and nausea for about a week, I was also two weeks late so that's when it hit me and decided to take a pregnancy test. After two test both of them came back positive! It was a big surprise, but I was very happy and shared the news to my family.

My whole pregnancy was difficult, the hardest part was the first six months when I experience all day sickness, after the six months I was diagnosed with PUPPP (a horrible rash) that apparently doesn't go away until you give birth, but I found remedies that helped (see second trimester essential post) by my seventh month I was feeling a little better until I was 33 weeks pregnant I was having minor cramps, by the second day of having cramps I called my obgyn and she recommended me to head over to the hospital just to make sure everything was going well. After checking I was one centimeter dilated, but not enough for me to go home. they gave me a shot to stop the contractions because after three hours in the hospital they were getting a little bit stronger. The shot did not do anything, so they gave me a second shot and waited, again nothing happen and I was admitted to the hospital to stay because my OB didn't want to sent me home. This is when the excitement happened, around noon they gave me a medication which was the last thing in the market that could have helped me to stop the contractions. It was horrible it made me so sick and to top it off I wasn't able to take no meds for the contractions, I slept through night with them, but really who can sleep with contractions  I felt like I was going to die. I was tired, anxious and in so much pain. Nothing was progressing, but the pain. Around seven at night they gave me one more shot at a higher dosage and nothing happen by this point I was in tears it was already two days with contractions and my ob didn't want me to deliver yet she tried the impossible to stop it. At nine p.m I was checked and I was four centimeters dilated and that's it I was already in labour and they started to prep me for delivery, I asked for the epidural and I was able to sleep through the night.

On  September fifteen at 7 a.m Joziah my baby was born, it was beautiful even though the epidural wore off and felt every pain I manage to be calm and concentrate to have my baby boy. Joziah was born at 33 weeks he was sent to the NICU immediately and couldn't do any type of bonding.
My recovery went well and fast. I was sent home after two days, but unfortunately my baby had to stay in the NICU for two weeks. It was so hard for me emotionally and physically. Although it was a hard experience I am thankful that my baby came out strong and healthy.
